A walk-in sale needs no customer. Attach a saved customer when you want their history, loyalty, or to let them pay later (khata).
Attach a customer at the till
- In the POS, press F4 (or tap the customer area above the cart).
- Search by name or phone — pick the customer, or create a new one right there.
- Complete the sale — it lands on their history.
Sell on credit
- Attach the customer (required — credit needs a name).
- Charge as usual and choose the credit payment method.
- The unpaid amount lands on their outstanding balance and in Accounts receivable.
Each customer has a credit limit — the till warns when a sale would push them past it. Owners/admins edit the limit by clicking it on the customer's row in Customers.
Collect a payment later
- Open the customer (or press F8 in the POS for their ledger).
- Record the payment against their outstanding balance.
- The ledger, receivables and the cashbook all update together.
What a customer record shows
- Total orders and lifetime spend
- Outstanding — what they owe right now
- Credit limit — how much credit you'll extend
- Full order and payment history (the khata)
Tip: Add customers from their phone number — it's the fastest lookup at the counter and the one identifier they always remember.
