Two kinds of discounts at the till — one item, or the whole bill.
Discount one line
- Add the product to the cart.
- Open the line in the cart (tap the item's row).
- Enter the discount — a percentage or a fixed amount off that line.
Only that line changes; the rest of the bill stays full price.
Discount the whole invoice
- With items in the cart, press F10 (or the discount action).
- Enter the invoice-level discount.
- The bill summary updates live — the customer sees the saving on the receipt.
Who can discount
Discounts and price overrides can be restricted by role — if a cashier doesn't see the option, an owner or manager applies it, or grants the permission under Roles.
Note: Every discounted sale keeps the full math on the invoice — list price, discount, and what was actually paid. Nothing hides in the reports.
Discount rules of thumb
- Line discount → "this size has a small defect".
- Invoice discount → "regular customer, 10% off everything".
- For a permanent price change, edit the product — don't discount it at the till every time.
