A register is one till at one location. Each register runs its own shift (opening cash → sales → day close), so you can always answer "who had this drawer, and what went through it?"
Add a register
- Open Settings → Registers.
- In Add new register, enter a register name (e.g. "Counter 1").
- Optionally give it a code (shows on receipts and reports).
- Choose the location it belongs to.
- Click Save.
Tip: One register per physical till. Two counters at one branch = two registers — their cash stays separate and reconciliation stays honest.
Good to know
- Disable, don't delete — flip a register off with its switch when a counter is retired; its history stays intact.
- Staff assignment — link cashiers to a register under Users so the POS picks their location automatically.
- Shifts — a cashier opens a shift on a register at the start of the day and closes it at day end.
Next: add your first product.
