Two organizing tools with different jobs:
- Categories — the working structure. POS filter chips, stock reports and bulk operations all group by category. Every product belongs to one.
- Collections — merchandising. "Summer sale", "New arrivals" — curated groups that surface on the storefront, independent of category.
Manage categories
- Open Categories.
- Add a category with a name — subcategories nest under parents for a tree ("Footwear → Sneakers").
- Assign products on each product's page, or in bulk during import.
Tip: Keep categories how your staff think ("Formal shoes", "Sandals"), not how marketing phrases them — they're the filter chips on the till.
Manage collections
- Open Collections.
- Create a collection and add products to it.
- Collections appear as sections on your online store (featured rows, landing rails).
