The periodic ritual that keeps inventory honest: print a sheet, walk the shelves, count what's real.
Print a count sheet
- Open Stock reports.
- Click Count sheet.
- Filter the sheet by location, category, or search — e.g. one rack at a time.
- Tick the rows to include (or leave the selection empty to cover everything you filtered).
- Print — thermal printers get a compact 2-lines-per-item sheet with a "Phys: ____" write-in; otherwise it prints as a normal A4 sheet.
Tip: Turn off the "show system quantity" option for a blind count — staff count what's actually on the shelf instead of copying the number they expect.
Reconcile the count
Back at the screen, compare the physical counts to system stock:
- Counts match → nothing to do, that's the audit done.
- Mismatches → correct them as stock adjustments — each writes an adjustment movement the ledger can explain later.
Cadence that works
- Full store — monthly or quarterly
- One category/rack — weekly rotating counts catch problems while they're small
- After any count shock — recount the same shelf before adjusting; counting errors outnumber real shrinkage
